The Louisville Chapter of the Religion Communicators Council (RCC) was chartered in 1993 and incorporated in 1997 as an interfaith association of religion communicators working professionally in print and electronic communication, marketing, and public relations. Its membership is comprises men and women who serve in various faith-related institutions throughout the Kentuckiana area.
The chapter meets monthly throughout the year for professionally related programming, opportunities for networking, and organizational business. In order to learn more about the various faith groups in Kentuckiana, meetings are hosted at different locations throughout the city.
With a membership rich in religious and cultural diversity, the Louisville Chapter promotes religious tolerance, understanding, and open communication about faith issues.
The Louisville Chapter is one of 13 chapters of the national RCC organization, which was founded in 1929. As the oldest organization of its kind, the national RCC involves more than 500 professionals from across North America, providing an outlet for religion communicators from more than 60 faith groups to share in the common work of telling our faith stories in a variety of ways.
Membership in Louisville Chapter and national RCC provides opportunities for religion communicators to learn from each other as members promote excellence in the communication of religious faith and values in the public arena and encourage understanding among faith groups. This is accomplished locally and widely through the monthly chapter meetings, the annual RCC Convention, an electronic newsletter connecting you with other communicators across the nation, an awards program to nationally recognize the achievements and successes in your work, and an accreditation program for professional religion communicators.
